NELSON APPEAL

FULL COURT HEARING

(By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, 20th April. The Full Court late this afternoon commenced the hearing of the appeal of Olaf Frederick Nelson from convictions imposed upon him on 3rd March by tho High Court of Western Samoa. On the bench were the Chief Justice, Sir M. Myers, Mi- Justice Herdman, Mr Justice Reed, and Mr Justice Blair. Mr P. B. Cooke, who with Mr W. P Shorland is appearing for appellant, had commenced to deal with the facts lead ing to the appeal being brought when the court adjourned until Monday. Mr A. H. Johnstone, with Mr A. Currie, is appearing for the Crown. Respondent named in the proceedings is Arthur Leslie Braisby, the police officer who originally laid the informations against appellant. Counsel indicated that the case would last three days.
