There was extraordinary activity on the Sydney Stock Exchange to-day in goldmining shares, confined mostly to newer local ventures which are in the developmental stage; such as Arnlieim, Lucknows, New Occidental, Euratlia, Golden Mile, and Lancefield. But established concerns like Mount Morgan were not subjected to the same speculative influences. The ordinary investment market was without appreciable change. Banks are still very quiet.
