FIGHT FOR TRADE CONSTRUCTION OF NEW VESSELS (United Press Association—By Elfectrio Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 20th April, 1.15 a.m.) LONDON, 19th April. The "Evening-Standard” referring to the fight for the Eastern shipping trade, says that) Hamburg-American’s NordDeutscher’s two 17,000 tonjiers now being constructed will have a speed of twenty-one knots. Italy is planning to build twenty-four knot ships for passengers, mails and fin© cargo only. Such speed has never before been dreamed of in the Oriental trade, where only the Peninsular has ever attempted to exceed seventeen knots.
