ADJUSTMENTS IN PREMIUM REDUCTION IN RATES (By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. Adjustments in the premiums payable for compulsory insurance under the Motor Vehicles Insurance (third party risks) Act, are gazetted. These new rates will apply to the new licensing year commencing on Ist June next. In an accompanying statement the Minister of Transport, the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, said that in nearly all cases the rates were determined after an examination of the figures regarding the premiums paid and claims made in respect of injury or damage. The following are among the premium rates for the coming year, rates for 1933-34 being shown in parentheses: motor cycles (£1); private motor cars' 17s '( £1); private mtor cars used for certain business purposes £2 Is (£2); trade motors £1 7s (£1 10s); taxis and rental cars £G ( £0 10s).
