MELBOURNE-SOUTH ISLAND (By Tolograph—Prose Association) DUNEDIN, 17th Apijl. , Correspondence from the Dunedin 'Chamber of Commerce with respect to' the efforts of a local committee to obtain a resumption of the MelbourneSouth Island shipping service was read at a meeting of Dunedin manufacturers to-dny. | The chairman, Mr James ITogg, statj ed that manufacturers had appreciated the difficulty of the Union Company in : respect of this service during date years, j There was, however, a movement to foster tourist traffic hv that route, and' 1 I here was no doubt that a service would ,be obtained if tins intentions of the ! Minister of Employment to have a road j made to Milford Sound were fulfilled. ! It was decided to support the efforts of tlio committee. i Tlio chairman added that manufacturers as a rule obtained a good sol'-, vice lo Australia, and the question was (low one, of fostering tourist trnffic.
