JUMP FROM BRIDGE
[By Telegraph—Press Association] CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. ’The police are investigating to-day with a view of establishing the identity of the man who was seen jumping from tlie parapet on the Waimaka/iri bridge, on the North, road, on Monday evening, hut so far without success. About 6.30 p.m. on Monday a man leapt into the river from the bridge, lie was assisted out of the water hy fishermen after lie had been carried some distance downstream. Then at 9 o’clock tlie same evening a motorist saw a young man make a similar dive. The identity in both cases is unknown, hut the police believe that the actions were probably those of the one man.
