OIL TANKER DIVERTED
MISHAP TO NUCULA (By Telegraph—Press Association} AUCKLAND. 9th April. Owing to a mishap to the, engines at sea the- Admiralty oi! tanker Niicuki, which left” Auckland for the Persian Gulf last Wednesday, has been diverted to Sydney for repairs. At the time of the mishap (he vessel was en route to the Persian Gulf to load oil for the Now Zealand cruisers, Diomede and Dunedin. On Sunday, when the Nncnla, was about 1/TOO miles from New Zealand, a defect occurred in the inlet pipe, and the engine? had to be stopped until temporary repairs were made. After the work had been completed and the engines resume:! running. she received orders by wireless to proceed to Sydney for permanent repairs. ■"<
