RECORDS BROKEN
SECONDARY SCHOOLS SPORTS AUCKLAND PERFORMANCES (By Telegraph—Press Association) AUCKLAND, 7th April. Several records were made and one equalled at the annual secondary schools sports. Wordsworth (Sacred Heart College) did 2.2 3-5 for the senior half-mile, beating the record by 1 1-5 seconds. A. J. Sayers (Auckland Grammar School), covered 440 yards in 51 2-5 or 4-ssec better than the previous record. This time is considered to be a New Zealand schools record. P. R. Cruickshank (Auckland Grammar School), beat the high jump record by 3in, leaping ,sft Tin. In the mile, F. E. Watt (Auckland Grammar School) who runs with his crippled right arm in a sling, reduced the record by 11 sec, doing 4.33 3-5.
