OBITUARY
DR. WILLIAM McARA (By Telegraph—Press Association) GORE, This Day. The death has occurred at Auckland of Dr. Win. McAra, medical practitioner at Gore for 31 years. Deceased served in the war, and was a popular figure in medical circles. He is survived by his widow. MR ROBT. STEELE PEARSON CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The death has occurred of Mr Robert Steele Pearson, aged 56 years. He was headmaster of the New Brighton District Higli School, and was formerly of the Normal School and of Tiinaru West. He was a former member of the Teachers’ Appeal Board, and a prominent member of flic Educational Institute. He died suddenly following an operation. ~v

INVERCARGILL,, This Day. I lie death has occurred 'of Mr J. C. Thomson, who represented Wallace in Parliament for twenty years; was for fourteen years a member of the Otago University Senate, and for thirty-four years a member of the Southland Edu cation Board. The decen.spd, whose health had been failing for gears, was aged sixty-eight.
RETIRED BARRISTER
INVERCARGILL, This Day. The death has taken place of Mr W. G. Aspinall, formerly a barrister of Temuka. where he took a leading part in public affairs.. Tic was eighty years of age. He retired from practice eight years ago and went to live with his son at Stewart Island.
