| MATCH AT WAKEFIELD I MASONIC AND DRUID LODGES 1 'annual game played On Easter Monday the third annual Ijk match between the Masonic and Druid <Jg Lodges of Wakefield! was played at the Jr Wakefield Domain, , and resulted in a ” win for the Druids. Hilyard (Masonic) won the toss from ■ A. Wilkens (Druids) and decided to bat. 1 The Masons ran up a > total of 162 runs i (Don Max 76). The Druids replied with | a score of 157 (Alick Exigent 47). In their second attempt the Masons collapsed badly, being all out for 39 runs, the veteran Alick Baigent being responsible for six wickets for 10 runs, and K. Wilkens securing four for 24, the whole innings being completed in 10 overs. . Requiring 45 runs to win the Droids secured the necessary runs for the loss of two wickets. The hall was tastefully decorated with greenery, interspersed with Druidic symbols, the music being supplied by Harold Williams’, orchestra, which was greatly appreciated. Bros. M. Douglas and D. Baigent carried out the duties of IM’s.C. very efficiently.. The prize for the “Monte Carlo” was won by Miss Godbaz and Mr Batt, and the “Spot Waltz” by Miss J. McPherson and Mr J. Shea. The catering for the supper was in the capable hands of Mis A. Wilkens and her assistants.
