NELSON CLUB ENDS SEASON RESULTS OF COMPETITIONS j The Nelson Bowling Club concluded its season on Saturday and the grounds are now .in the course of preparation; for next season:- The early Blister has-given the club a much-needed opportunity of giving attention to the greens before the winter sets in. The committee made a very wise decision in closing the greens early niri the benefits will be seen in the course of a few weeks. Special efforts are beii*g mad in connection with seeding and topdressing. On Saturday, Stephenson’s champion Easter tournament rink challenged Masefield’s rink, holders of the Wakefield Feathers, and were successful in defeating them by the small margin of one. Hie winning rink was composed, of McClune, Dodds. Steele, and Stephenson (si. This rink proposes to take the feathers out to Wakefield and so give the local club a- chance of winning them hack. The following are the results of the club’s competitions during tlie season just completed Senior Championship : W. A. Dee ; runner-up. V. Vitetta. Junior Champjousbip: A. K. Newton ; runner-i’p-. W. S. Street. Lvell Cup: J. Masefield ; runner-up, G S. Stiles. Champnou Pairs: John V'fotf-a and V. Vitetta: runners-up, F. T. Pogson and B. A. Tomlinson. •Tacka Pairs: A. K. Newton and Jos. During the closer! season the club will bold several social evenings jn its capacious and well-equipped pavilion.
