OBITUARY
MR E. B. BURDEKIN Former nelson resident The death occurred yesterday in Wellington of a former member of the staff of the “Evening Mail”, and a one-time well-known personality in this city, Mr Edward Blake Burdekin. The deceased, who resided for many years in Nelson, was married twice, big first, wife, who died many years ago. being a sister of Mr J-.---B. Sadd and Miss Sadd, of this city. His second wife, who survives her husband is a daughter of the late Judge Halsev of Wellington. Tlie family consists of two sons by the first wife--Mr Cyril Blake Burdekin, now in the High Commissioner’s office in London; and Mr Hugh Blake Burdekin, public accountant’ of Wellington. Botli sons served in the Great War.
The late Mr IJurdekin, after leaving Nelson was for many years in the Public Trust, Napier, but for some years bad been living a retired life in Wellington. He was a keen bowler ami belonged to the Nelson Club during his stay in Nelson and followed up the game in Wellington till ill-health overtook him. Many old friends in this town will remember him well and regret bis passing.
