GAS ATTACKS

ON AUSTRALIAN CITIES PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES • (United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright) CANBERRA, 29th November. In the House of Representatives the assistant-Minister of Defence, Mr Francis, replying to a question, stated that precautionary measures against gas attacks on Australian cities were being taken by the Commonwealth Government although the committee of military, naval and air experts had reported that there was not much likelihood of such an attack. However, plans were being prepared which would embrace ambulance and police training, anti-gas measures, and the manufaicture of cheap, serviceable gas masks and suitable clothing.
