A Munich message states that an anonymous speaker delivered a further broadcast against Austria, although milder than predecessors. The speaker analysed Austria’s financial and industrial situation and quoted figures purporting to show that the country was oil the brink of ruin. He then emphasised the comparatively flourishing conditions in Germany under the Nazis, implying that only the Nazis can save Austria from economic collapse. Sixtv-one Communists w r ere arrested at Oppeln, Silesia, for allegedly planning a revolutionary movement in . conjunction with Communists in other cities. Four persons were arrested at Munich, having been caught red-handed folding and packing several thousand copies ot a Communist newspaper containing incitements 1 to civil war and a general strike. The printing plant was confiscated. The case of the American, Dr. Mulvihill, has attracted attention. The Central News says it is feared Dr. Mulvihill will become permanently deaf as the result of a blow lie received from a Nazi storm trooper. Herr Ernst announces that henceforth Brown Shirts insulting a foreigner will be expelled. He officially expressed regret to the American Ambassador.' Herr Nadolny is replacing Herr von Dircksen as German Ambassador to Moscow, who has been appointed to Tokio. NO PROMISE (Received 21st August, 9.25 a.m.) BERLIN, 20th August. It is stated in-official quarters that no promise has been made by the German Government to either England or France that Germany will cease to broadcast propaganda affecting Austria. DOLFUSS MEETS MUSSOLINI (Received 21st August, 8.30 a.m.) ROME, 20th August. Dr. Dolfuss flew from Vienna lo Rimini, where he made a brief stay with Signor Mussolini.
