RAINBOW CLUB DANCE

The Rainbow Club held a very successful dance in the Velma Hall on Saturday night that .was greatly enjoyed by a large number of dancers. The ceiling of the Velma was beautifully covered with streamers that gave a delightful rainbow effect, while, the rest of the hall was decorated to tone. The big prize of the evening was given for the “Monte Carlo Medley,” and was finally won by Miss Brenelle and Mr Delaney, with Miss'Johnson and partner as runners-up. This dance .was featured in the early portion of the programme as a special- noyelty for the early arrivals. Another 'novelty ,item .that caused much merriment was the “Cigar OneStep,” when all dancers were supplied with squeaking cigars. These were very popular and greatly'appreciated. The Premier Dance Band supplied all the latest danco numbers which were so much appreciated that community singing while dancing was freely indulged in. This called for many encores that were readily given. During the second portion of the programme streamers were freely distributed. Mr H. Williams ably carried out the duties of M.C.
