TOURNAMENT AT CHRISTCHURCH OTAGO TO MEET TIMARU (By Telegraph— Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The Rugby Tournament for the first fifteens of Southland, Otago, Timaru and Christchurch High Schools opened toklfiy. Otago befit Christchurch by 8 points to 5, and Timaru beat Southland, by 9 points to 6. Otago and Timaru will meet oir'Monday, and also the two other teams will play their match. SPECTACULAR RUGBY STRATFORD, This Day. With the Strauord Technical High School playing spectacular- Rugbv a 'little more robustly than the opposing Rongotai College fifteen, the annual secondary school fixture at Straford yesterday produced really brilliant football, up to the best secondary school traditions. Time after time the heavy Stratford backs swept though the valiant Rongotai defence with splendid speed and sure passing, and the home team won by 32 points to 11. Boys’ High School were decisively beaten by the Palmerston North High School fifteen 16 points to 5 in the annual fixture for the Poison Banner yesterday. A HEAVY DEFEAT FEILDING OVER SCOTS FEILDING, This Day. The Feilding Agricultural High School defeated Scots College, Wellington by 61 points to 11.
