McCarthy had worked on the same farm for sixty years, and ho was very proud of his record. Ono day his employer said to him: “McCarthy, you aro getting very old, and I think ;t about timo you retired.” “Me retire, sir? Why, I worked ter yer grandfather, yer father, and ono of yer uncles before you became boss. If I had known this wasn’t to bo a permanent job I wouldn’t have taken it on.”
