CONSPIRACY CASE
FORGERY ALLEGED (By Telegraph—Press Association) TE AROHA, 17th August. In tlie Police Court to-day, Albert. Edward Wight and Andrew- John Arkle, well-known residents of To Aroha, were charged with conspiring to defraud the To Aroha Building Society of sum of money amounting to £46. Some time ago the former secretary of the society absconded, and defalcations were detected. Tlie prosecution alleged that Wight and Arkle took advantage of this fact and forged the secretary’s initials to entries in passbooks for payments that were never made in fact. The accused reserved their defence, and wore committed for trial at Ilamik ton, bail being alllowcd.
