PLUNKET BALL

CHILDREN’S PARTY This function which takes place on Saturday week the 26th instant, promises to he even more successful than those in the past, judging from the interest already manifested. The worthy object the committee has in viz. to raise funds to assist in carrying on the splendid work of the Society should alone commend itself to the public, especially those interested in the welfare of the mothers, and children of the city and district. The Plunket Society has been carrying on its very important work in this district for over 21 years, and it has been necessary to put forward increased efforts ouch year to meet the demand. The benefits given absolutely free, to the mothers and children, have been increasingly recognised and much appreciated. The children’s “Mad Hatter Party” is causing considerable interest among the young folk, and judging from reports to hand, the committee anticipate great competition for the prizes offered for the prettiest, most original, and most comical hat. Prizes have also been donated by various citizens for the best fancy dressed hoy or. girl. All arrangements are well in hand for the ball; with an efficient orchestra and the sumptuous supper which are features of all Plunket Balls, patrons are assured of a most pleasant and enjoyable evening. As an additional attraction for the children’s party a number of tiny tots are being trained in special items by Miss 13. Aydon. The price of admission is low, and tickets may lie obtained from the booksellers. Arrangements have been made for ’buses to leave Richmond at 2.30 on the day of (he function and passengers are advised to hook seals early.
