NELSON LADIES’ CLUB The opening match of the season was played by the Nelson Ladies’ Club yesterday, with the following result:—Mr Itout 2 down, Mrs Wotton 3 down, Miss Young 3 down, Miss R. Moore 3 down, Mrs Cock 4 down, Mrs Goodman 4 down, Miss Ilarkness 5 down, Miss Retts 5 down.
Next Tuesday’s game will be a teams’ match, captain v. secretary. Entries for the Mabin Cup foursomes handicap will close on 9 hursday, 13th inst. . The provincial tournament will be played on 10th, lltli and 12th May. The following officers have been elected for the year: Captain, Mrs H. Leggatt; secretary, Miss L. Lucas; committee, Misses Gray, Maginnity, Kain and Mrs Rout.
