The Rev. I’. N. Knight, who has been for two years in charge of the Durham Street Methodist Church, lett 'Christchurch yesterday for Devonpovt Auckland. At the close of Mr Knight’s final services in Christchurch (reports the “Press”) he was met by 400 members of his congregation at an enjoyable function in the school hall and was presented with a wallet filled with notes Mr C. K. Wigglesworth (circuit steward), who made the presentation, referred to Dir Knight’s long association with the church in New Zealand, and to his fine work at Durham street. Airs C. Overton (president of the (Methodist Ladies’ Guild) presented Mrs Knight with an evening bag, and Mr Gordon Knight was also presented with a memento of his residence in Christchurch.

Mr K. J. Holyoake AI.P. for Motueka, and President of the Nelson Provincial Farmers ’Union, was yesterday congratulated by members of the provincial executive on his appointment to the C'awthron Trust Board.

At the monthly meeting of the Nelson Provincial executive of the Farmers’ Union a vote of sympathy was passed to Mr K. Baird, president of the Golden Bay provincial branch of the Union, on the death of his wife.

Recent guests at Anakiwa Homestead have included Mr and Mrs James (Tasman). Mr and Mrs Airey, Misses Gibb (•2), Mrs Kitcliingman, Mrs B. B. Jones, Mr F. H. Giblin (all of Nelson), Mrs Olliver (Marton), Mr Smart, Mr and Mrs Conway and son (all of Canterbury).
