EFFECT OF RAISING AGE TO SIX The effect on school rolls of the legislation raising the primary school entrance age to six years was shown in figures submitted at to-day’s meeting of the Nelson Education Board. , The following were the comparative figures for the City and some of the nearer country schools as at 9th February, 1933, and at the end of .the first term for 1932: — ’ * Central, 483, 505. It was pointed out by the secretary that by the end of the first term about 80 enrolments were expected, which would bring ibis year’s figures as at the end of I lie first term to about 1900, which would not be a. very great decrease.
