ALLEGED MURDER OF CHILD
MOTHER CHARGED (By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. A case of alleged murder came up in the Magistrate’s Court this morning, the victim being Dawn Betty Mitchell, aged three years, and accused the mother, aged 33 years. When the case was called Sub-Inspector Ward asked for a remand till 22nd February. He said the mother, was recently released on license from the Mental Hospital, and it was probable that during the period of remand the hospital authorities would take her back if the Magistrate approved. The tragedy is alleged to have takm place at Newtown some time last evening.
