Messrs Levin and Co. Ltd., have received the following cable from their London agents, dated 10th February : North Island down lambs.—2B/365, 6kl per lb.; 36/42, 6d. Best North Island crossbred lambs.—2B/36sj 6 l-8d ; 36/425, s£d. North Island second quality lambs average 30/31, Sfd. Best North Island wether sheep under 481bs, 43d; 48/565, 4,i d. North Island ewes, under 481bs,‘ 3gd; 48/565, 3 l-8d; 56/645, 3d : 64/725,2gd. New Zealand prime ox beef.—' 160/220, 3gd. Compared with last week’s quotations,: down lamb f,d per lb. lower; best crossbred lamb 28/36s §d per lb. lower; 36/42s -jjd per lb. lower; second quality) lambs 1,(1 per lb. lower; best wethers 56/72s £d per lb. lower; ewes 64/72s l-8d per lb. lower; other unchanged. The market for lamb shows a heavy fall ill price and on the spot- is very weak. Prices do not appear to have reached bottom, particularly for heavy weights. . The mutton market is quiet, with ju ices weakening. The demand is poor.
