MEMBER ASSAULTED
IN QUEENSLAND CHAMBER (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 14th December, 10.45 a.m.) BRISBANE, This Day. A member of the Assembly assaulted another while, the House was in session. This is the first incident of the kind in the history of the Queensland Parliament. While in committee Mr E. Llewelyn (Labour) said that Mr E. Maher (Country Party) had a filthy mind. Mr Maher walked across the Chamber and struck Mr Llewelyn in the face. Air Maher was suspended for the remainder of the session. Later, the Premier moved that Mr Maher be summoned to attend at the bar of the House to answer a charge of having assaulted Mr Llewelyn. This was agreed 10.
