CORNWALL CUP
WELLINGTON REPRESENTATIVES 'By Telegraph—Press Association] WELLINGTON, This Day. After a series of trials totalling in all 17 races, Mr L. Wadell , sole selector, announced that he had selected R. Julian (Evans Bay Club), skipper, and J. Nolan (Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club), as the two Wellington representatives in the Cornwall Cup contest to be held at Lyttelton commencing on 27th January. The crew will go into training immediately. AN UNFINANCIAL MEMBER WELLINGTON, This Day. At a meeting of the Wellington Provincial Yacht and Motor Boat Association last evening, a letter was received from the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club complaining that a member of the crew of the Sue Lem in the first race of the Sanders Cup was an unfinancial member of the club. Hie chairman, Air Moller, pointed out that apparently the only course open to the association was to write to the Port Nicholson Club reprimanding it for having allowed an unfinancial member to race in the boat, which the club itself nominated. The member had no right to lie in the boat, and the skipper of the boat, was responsible. “I maintain that the Port Nicholson Club was responsible for its own boat and crew until the start of the race. I think the club is offside.”
The letter was received and no action was taken.
