The most outstanding performance ever put up by a Christ’s College cricket team was recorded to-day during the course of the annual match with Otago Boys’ High School. The first wicket partnership produced 344 runs, easily beating the previous record of 214 put up in 1917 against Christchurch Boys’ High School by R. Blunt and T. W. Tothill. P. J. Byrne batted solidly all day for 208 not out, thus heating Blunt’s record score of 204 in the match previously mentioned, and tire College team declared at stumps with two down for 507.
