MONEY FOR GOVERNMENT BUT NOT FOR BUSINESS (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) WASHINGTON, 12th December. Tho Treasury Department announced that the 350,000,000 dollars of per cent, four year treasury notes had been oversubscribed nearly sixteen times. Both were at the lowest rates of interest ever offered in such loans. The Department expressed concern at the vast amount of funds which the banks are apparently reluctant to advance through ordinary credit channels for business, whereas over ten billion lias been offered to the Government.
