The New Zealanders Flight Lieutenant Harold Claude Marett and actingPilot Officer Adrian Kinross White, pilot and passenger respectively, were killed instantly near Grantham when their ’plane suddenly got into a spin and nose” dived. White jumped over near the earth, but the parachute did not open. Marett crashed into the debris of the machine, which killed a sheep as' it crashed.
