FULL AGREEMENT
SITTING OF CONCILIATION COUNCIL NEW AWARD FOR LOCAL JAM ’ FACTORY " . An application for a new award'in respect- to Kirkpatrick and Co.’s jam factory was heard by the Conciliation Commissioner (Mr E. W. F. Gohns) yesterday when a full agreement was reached. , The applicants w’ere represented bv Messrs Charles Milner and F. J. Tuckfield and the respondents by Messrs Roy Ward and D. W. Brown. After a very lengthy discussion the workers’ representatives accepted the employers’ new conditions of award, except the term of the award which was agreed on for one year commencing on Ist November 1932, ./ . . The wages were fixed as follows : Regular workers, Is 3d per hour; seasonal workers, 9d per hour; youths and female workers, as provided for by the provisions of the Factory Act 1921-22. There was also provision made for piece workers.; At the conclusion of the sitting the Commissioner congratulated the parties on the amicable agreement arrived* at and Mr Milner, on behalf of the applicants expressed appreciation of the help of the Commissioner, and Mr Brown endorsed these remarks on behalf of the employees.
