EXPENDITURE AND REVENUE (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, 31st August. Treasury returns for the past week showed that the total of ordinary expenditure for the financial year up to date amounts to £302,886,859, and ordinary revenue to £225,630,621, a deficit of £77,256,240, compared with a deficit one year ago of £82,146,432. The returns show that receipts from Customs and excise, to _ date yielded £116,346,000, being an increase on the previous year of £18,034,000.
