ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY 'By Telegraph—Press Association! CHRISTCHURCH, 27th July. The North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society to-night met to discuss a report of the Finance Committee. In effect, this report stated that at the present rate of expenditure the society was facing a deficit of £3OO, and recommended that the salaries of the secretary and two rangers should be reduced 15 per cent. A motion to adopt the report was rejected, and an amendment to defer wage reductions for six months was carried. Immediately on the announcement of the result of the vote, the members of the Finance Committee tendered their resignations. Notice of motion was given to rescind the decision of the meeting.
