OVERWHELMING WIN

NEW ZEALAND HOCKEY TEAM WARWICK MATCH (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) WARWICK (Queensland), 28th July. Taking complete control of the gamo in the first few minutes, the New Zealand Hockey tourists overwhelmed a Warwick eleven this afternoon, running up goals with monotonous regularity, and eventually winning by 13 goals to 1. Though the match was one-sided, it was a brilliant exhibition game on the part of the visitors, whoso tour of Queensland thus far has been characterised by easy victories. Their combination Was ‘wonderful! especially their forwards, who completely nonplussed the local players by the speed of their attack and tactics, especially the moves of Anthony, Bay and Rodgers, which invariably ended in goals. The backs, too, combined with uncanny accuracy, the outstanding player being Parker, who played hockey of a type seldom seen in Queensland. Bollard and Munro were also conspicuous. The visitors scored within five minutes of the opening, and with the exception of two occasions were on attack for the greater part of the first half, during which seven goals were netted, the score at half-time being 7-0. In the second half, the New Zealanders again took control of affairs, and early added an additional three goals in quick succession Then Warwick, for the first time seemed to have the upper hand, but their advantage was short-lived. The visitors dominated play for the remainder of the game, winning by 13 goals to 1, scored by Anthony (6), Rodgers (5), and Bay and Best" (one each)' For Warwick, Stewart- scored one goal.
