M.C.C. TOUR

NO' MATCH FOR DUNEDIN l OTAGO RESENTMENT (By Telegraph—Press Association) - DUNEDIN, 30th June.. A special meeting of the Otago Cricket Association carried the followmg resolution; “This association learns with surprise that the Management Committee of the New Zealand Cricket Council suggests that for the forthcoming tour of the M.C.C. team no match be played at Dunedin. This association emphatically protests against the continued neglect by the New Zealand Council of the interests of cricket in Otago in the matter of matches with overseas teams, and considers especially in view of the satisfactory state of the council’s finances, that the encouragement and development of cricket in the Dominion generally and not merely the question of gate money should be the first consideration of the council, and that Dunedin should be allotted one of the matches.” MAILEY’S AUSTRALIAN TEAM TORONTO MATCH ABANDONED (United PreßS Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received Ist July, 5.5 a.m.) TORONTO, 29th June.
