ELECTION DECLARED VOID
IRREGULARITIES AT BOOTHS
(By Telegraph—Press Association) HAMILTON', This Day. Holding that the irregularities were of such a frequent nature that they materially affected tile election, Mr Wyvern Wilson, S.M., declared the election of a local counties representative for the Auckland Harbour Board void to-day. When the election was held Mr A. Livingstone was returned with a majority of two votes over Mr A. S. Sutherland. A petition on the grounds of irregularities in the voting at one booth was lodged on behalf of Mr Sutherland’s supporters. At the initial hearing other irregularities were disclosed and a scrutiny of all the votes cast was ordered by the Magistrate. To-day it was shown that a scrutiny of five of the 72 booths showed a number of irregularities at every booth.
