MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Royal New Zealand Society for the Health of Women and Children was held immediately after the annual meeting in the Methodist Sunday school.' Nurse Pascoe read the nurses’ reports. The town report stated that the nurses had been kept very busy at the rooms, 032 visits being paid by mothers and children during the month. Fifteen new cases had been received, thirteen of which were breast fed and two on humanised milk. Many of the new babes had needed a good deal of attention, several of the babies, as well as of the older children, suffering from severe colds.

A letter was received from head office stating that the booklet “The Expectant Mother and Baby’s First Month,” was being reprinted and would shortly he available again. Miss Nevin reported that rehearsal- 1 for tlie dramatic entertainment to be given next Tuesday evening were going splendidly. It was decided to bold on 27th August a children’s plain and fancy masquerade in tlie afternoon, and an adults plain and fancy masquerade ball in the evening, the Velma Hall to be engaged for the occasion. Accounts amounting to £7l ISs 5d were passed for payment.
