They might have kept up the joke much longer had not Gwen seen a smile on Richard’s face, and happened to look at the end of the telescope. Then she saw the painted star, and realised the joke had played. At first she was annoyed, but in the end she saw the funny side, and laughed with them. Now she is wondering whether she can play the trick on someone else. We shall see.
