BENNO MOISEIWITSCH, NEXT WEEK. Benno Moisciwitsch, the famous pianist, will give two recitals in the Nelson School of Music Hall on Tuesday and Wednesday next, under the «). 0. Williamson direction. Some years ago Moiseiwitsch’s name was usually associated with Chopin. Whilst ho certainly is a wonderful Chopin interpreter, the Russian pianist’s ability is by iio moans limited to one composer, and | it is doubtful whether lie has an equal in the interpretation of modern works. jTliis year’s recitals in New York were ' considered an outstanding feature of the musical season. The recitals were divided into three groups. The first was entirely composed of classical I works, the second represented romdntic music, and the last the most interesting works of the modern repertoire. One of the leading American critics wrote: “One can no more call him a Chopin player than one can call him a Beethoven player or a Debussy player. He exploits the whole gamut of human emotions as exposed by the composers of all times and places, emotion where emotion is due with a control that is extremely great.” After an absence of four years Benno Moisciwitsch has returned for his fourth tour of the Dominion. He is the only artist who has achieved this record within the last decade. The Box Plans are now open at Begg’s.
