AT LAST!
The “Big Four” railway companies are progressing. Decorations are in progress to improve drab main-line waiting-rooms almost beyond recognition. “Backache” chairs are to be replaced by armchairs and settees, and covered, and writing tables and curtained windows will give in some cases a home-like, and in others a elub-like, atmosphere to the rooms. Already refreshment rooms, where wits declare that sandwiches of the Queen Anne reign and lukewarm cups of so-called tea and coffee have hitherto been the main attraction, display a wide choice of snacks and delicacies.
