‘ERRONEOUS AND MISCHIEVOUS STATEMENTS”
“In view of the many erroneous and mischievous statements that are being continually made by members of the community, which are detrimental to the banks, and the need that exists for people to bo correctly informed as to certain banking operations,” the recent Wellington conference of the New Zealand Bank Officers’ Guild recommended that the Associated Banks publish from time to time statements (as was done recently in connection with tlio cost of the note issue) “to enable members of the staffs discreetly to counteract the incorrect views converning the banks which are so widely held and expressed.”
