The resumption of the cricket match New Zealand v. Warwickshire was delayed for 40 minutes owing to thick fog. The outfield was again wet and the bowlers were handicapped by a greasy ball. Parsons continue!) to bat steadily. Warwickshire put up a fine first innings score of 401 in the match and New Zealand had lost 8 wickets for 143 runs at stumps. Merritt dismissed Smart in his second bowling spell in tbo morning. The batsman was caught by Vivian at long off. After lunch Vivian quickly disposed of the tail. Parsons fought hard to reach his double century but was run out in attempting a risky second run in order to keep the bowling. Despite chances his was a fino innings dominated by forceful driving. It lasted 320 minutes and he hit thirteen fours.

The New Zealand batsmen made the most disappointing showing of the tour. The weather cleared and the light improved. Mills was caught behind the wicket, and Weir and Page in the slips. Kerr was caught at cover from an off drive. Vivian skied Paine, a left-hand-er, in attempting a big hit. The weakness of the early batting was revealed by the confident manner in which James and Mathoson faced the Warwickshire attack, adding 43 in an unbroken partnership for the ninth wicket. Scores :
