POLICE SERGEANT ASSAULTED
(Bv Telegraph—Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH. This Day. Robert James Mitchell, aged 25 years, a labourer, was sentenced by the Magistrate, Mr Mosley, to four months’ hard labour on charges of unlawfully converting a motor car and assaulting a police sergeant after arrest. Sentence was deferred on a charge of breaking and entering and theft.
