INCREASING POPULARITY (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, 4tli August. In flying circles amateurs are devoted (o the new sport of “gliding” and are already looking forward to tho international gliding competition to ho held under tho auspices of the British Gliding Association in the first week in October while tho International Commission for Motorloss Flight is ill session in London. It is thought that British entrants will be able lo show the remarkable progress made in British gliding since tho last international meeting in England iu 1922, and enthusiasts point to tho new British duration record of 6 hours set up by Flying Officer Mole last weekend as proof of the high standard reached. British firms have taken up the construction of gliders nnd are now producing typos of high efficiency.
