PIPE TOBACCO
INCREASE IN PRICE (By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. With some exceptions for ■ plug to-" bacco aIL brands of pipe tobacco in Wellington will he increased in price as from to-morrow. The president of the Wellington Tobacconist’s Association in making the announcement said the manufacturers had passed on Is 6d to Is 7d, . which covered additional laid down costs and discount to retailers. The'-’inereased price is 2d per tin or two ounce plug. In some instances the. plug increase will not be passed on, the retailers carrying it. Loose tobacco will he advanced a penny to twopence. New Zealand tobaccos will go up twopence and a penny a tin.
