REAPING MACHINES 2,000 YEARS OLD
Reaping machines were used nearly 2,000 years ago. Pliny, the elder, describes one that he saw in Gaul in Uio first century of our era. He says: “In tho extensive weald of the lowlands of Gaul, machines with projecting teeth on tho edge are driven through tlio standing corn by an ox yoked in a reverse position. In this manner the cars are torn off, and full into the van ”
