PRESAGES A PINE DAY
Tho evening redness of the sky is due lo the fact that the amount of vapour floating in tho air refracts the beams of tho sun, and more freely transmits the red rays of light than other coloured rays. It is the degree of moisture in tho atmosphere which affects the refraction of the light. When rod rays of evening are freely transmitted I lie amount of moisture does not approach the rain point, and therefore promises the following day to he fine. “Tf the sun in red should set, Tho next day will he free from wet.” “When it is evening ye say, it will he fair weather, for (lie sky is red."— Mutt.
