GIFT COUPON BILL
A PDF A LANCE OF MEASURE DELAYED On account of the difficulties oxpeiicnccd in drafting the Gift Coupons Bill, the appearance of this measure, in Parliament has been delayed. Dithculty has been found in expressing the exact intention of the Bill, and as it was before tho House once already and lias been redrafted the Government is anxious that on this occasion there should be no mistake in its intent, Iho Bill might not, appear until next week, and if an amendment to tho Budget debate is moved by either of tho Opposition Parties the Bill will be further delayed. It is believed tho Government will ask that the Bill bo sent to a Select Committee. ALLEGED BREACH OF PRIVILEGE Tho Breach of Privilege Committee which has been investigating tho allegations of Mr F. Lye, (U.. Waikato) on coupons revelations is ready to roport, and an interesting debate will probably follow its report to tho House.
