NEW GOLF CLUB At a recent meeting of the newlyformed Golf Club at Stoke the following officers were elected : President, the Rev. J. G. S. Bartlett; lion, secretary and treasurer, Mr S. Morris; committee, Messrs Langboin, Dee, Grant. Thomason and Vercoc. A nine-hole course has been laid out on Lhe "Isel” grounds and the links are interesting and sporting, the greens being in excellent order, fast and tricky. It is Imped that more land will he available for extension of the playing area so as to avoid congestion and excessive crossing. The club held its opening tournament on Spud Monday, when a stroke competition was played in the morning, and a, fourball in the afternoon. C. Dee won the former with a nett score of 77; and Messrs Grant and S. Bartlett won (ho fourball with a nett score 61.
