QUICKENED INTEREST REFORM PARTY DIVIDED (By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Tins Day. Interest in the political situation has quickened since the introduction of the Budget and the possibility of a crisis being reached cannot be overlooked, al-though-it is not considered likely it will come before the taxing and Customs Bills are under consideration. The Labour Party decided .definitely this morning not to move a hostile amendment during the Budget debate, but that does not mean they would not support an amendment moved by Reform.

The Reform Party has been meeting almost daily since Thursday in an endeavour to arrive at unanimity in regard to the course of action to be followed. It is known there is a definite division of opinion in the Reform Party. Some members hold that the Government should be dismissed at the earliestopportunity,- but others argue that there is no alternative to the Government’s method of balancing the -Budget. • ; t- -b ii-'.-'i.Ki >

PARTY CAUCUSES (By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. It was officially announced at the close of the Labour Party Caucus that no amendment would be moved during the Budget debate, but that the taxation proposals to come down later will be opposed. The Reform Caucus met to-day. Mr Coates had no statement to make, hut indicated that the party would meet again this afternoon.
