Mr Hamilton’s amendment that the Bill Ue react six months hence’ Was defeated by 31 to 23.Mr J. A. Nash then moved a further amendment that the Bill should be road a second time on ,14th October and Reform members proceeded to stonewall the Bill. Two attempts to apply the closuro were made -but both were ruled out by the Speaker. The Bill was still being discussed when the House adjourned at 10.30 p.m.
